Modern Vocational education and training for the future

The aim of the Berufsbildenden Schulen II Osterode am Harz (our vocational school in the city of Osterode am Harz) is to provide young people with a successful start to their education and training.

This is done through the acquisition of qualified certificates and/or degrees.

We support young people in their search for a suitable career when starting work with a perspective for the future. In recent years, the school board has therefore invested heavily into the infrastructure of vocational schools. Vocational education – both initial and continuing – is seen as an important factor in structural and economic development.

We work on the basis of the “Lower Saxony quality framework” (Niedersächsischer Qualitätsrahmen) and the “key tasks model for vocational schools” (BBS-Kernaufgabenmodell) to develop and improve the teaching concepts in accordance with the required standards.

For many years, the focus of our school development has been on improving of teaching and the organisation of vocational and educational training. The central aim has always been the comprehensive professionalisation of the teachers through didactic and methodological planning, targeted implementation, open critical reflection and evaluation of teaching.

In the fields of education and didactics, various processes are dominant, expecially through our programme of a “bundled school” (various forms of schooling are all organised under the same roof). Of great importance is the formation of target-oriented instructor teams as “innovative organisational units” responsible for the quality of the training programmes.

The mission statement of our school programme provides orientation and offers the first concrete information on our educational work.
